The Lip Junkie | Lip Crayons

Recently I have come to the conclusion that I am starting to hoard lip products. Well I basically hoard beauty products but I just allow myself to because they make me happy. Now I sound crazy but i'm sure if you are on  this blog you understand me.

Sidenote, I got a fancy DSLR camera for christmas that i am still figuring out how to use so please bare with me on the picture quality

I thought I'd share with you what lip products I have and my thoughts on them starting with lip crayons.

I love lip crayons, I think they are generally great because they are just so easy. I use them all the time and have worked up a few different ones to share with you

I have all the soap & Glory gloss sticks, a couple of the Bourjois and Revlon ones, one from Clinique and one from No.7

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks  - £8
Left-Right
Raplumzel- A berry shade
Plum Jam- A plummy nude
Fushia-Ristic- A coraly shade
Bashfull- A pink nude
Nudist- A true nude

I love the colour selection in these lip crayons. All five are beautiful and wearable colours and unlike many collections of make up there isn't a single dud of a colour.
There is a vanilla scent to these which I personally love but it's not overpowering
They are like most lip crayons I've come across twist up so no sharpening is required.

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon - £7.99
Orange Punch
Red Sunshine

These lip crayons are a lot brighter than the soap and glory ones and still glossy. I have the coral and the Red shade from the collection which are beautiful. They are so pigmented, one swipe and you're ready to go. I think these make wearing a bright lip fuss free and easy.

I did also have the paler pink shade from this collection called On The Beach. This was, what I found, the colour that had the most buzz around it however it unfortunately just did not suit me in the slightest. I don't know what it is with colours like that but they just do nothing for me so I passed it on to my little sister

I don't find these lip crayons have a scent, they just kind of smell like make up and like the soap and glory sticks these are also twist up

Crush
Rendez-Vous

The Revlon Balms stains have a peppermint scent which I adore because I love the smell of mint. They are less glossy than the previous two brands but still have shine to them. The colour Crush is perfect for autumn/winter. It's the kind of colour I just wear all the time and Rendez-Vous is my perfect Spring/Summer shade because I am all about the corals in the warmer months.
The pigmentation is great in these and again they are just easy to wear and fuss free.
A huge bonus for me is that they aren't too dry that they show off every little crack and line in my lips but they also stain the lip so the colour stays on for a decent length of time. I also found that the colour never transfers at all!

No.7 High Shine Lip Crayon- £9
Clinique Chubby Sticks Lip Balm- £17

firstly the No.7 lip crayon, This is the lip crayon I own that I wear the least and that interest me least. I don't know why, I think i
I picked an uninteresting colour for me in the hopes it'd be a good everyday colour but I just don't find myself ever reaching for it.
The product itself however is lovely. It again has a shine to it but itts not super glossy as you would imagine by the name. The staying power is alright not fantastic, just sort of average.
On the plus side I do find this lip crayon moisturising which is always a bonus considering my lips are constantly chapped

The Clinique chubby stick was the first lip crayon I tried because I got a free sample size with another clinique purchase. It is a very subtle colour which I love and this is the one I reach for, for that everday lip look. I don't find there is a particular fragrance to the chubby sticks and they are glossy but not overly glossy. I certainly understand the craze over these however I am not sure they are worth the steep £17 when there a great alternatives on the highstreet.

Overall I would say the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks are my favourite lip crayons out of all the ones I have tried and they are certainly the ones I reach for the most. I just love the colour selection, they are great for day and night and I think all the colours would suit every skin tone. They smell great and are so easy to use. Lip crayons are definitely fast becoming my preferred lip product.

What are your favourite lip crayons? I'm always dying for more!

Loving Lips

Hello lovelies

I love lip products, I think the can totally change up a whole look weather its just finshing it up or being a statement. I've been adding to my lipsticks recently so I'm going to share with you a few of my favourites!

Left to right

First off is a revlon lip butter in the shade wild watermelon. It's a beautiful red and is that perfect combination between sheer and colour. It's beautiful and moisturising which I love in lipstick. So if you haven't tried these definitely check them out. Especially this colour!

Next is a Clinique chubby stick. This is the shade whoppin' watermelon. It's a pinky nude that doesn't give much colour but is perfect when you have a bold eye or your just playing down the make up. It's really lovely and is great for layering lipgloss over!

Third in the row is probably my favourite lipstick if all time. It's the shade blushing sequin from l'oreal colour Riche. I got mine in Walmart and I wish I picked up more because they aren't available in the uk! This is a bright pink but again that perfect balance between opaque and sheer. I wear this all the time and it lasts a long time too

Last from this picture is a l'oreal caresse in Aphrodite Scarlett. This is an absolutely brilliant alternative to blushing sequin (check swatches at the bottom). The difference is the formulation. I find blushing sequin to be more dry but not in a drying way if that makes sense. Aphrodite is a very "wet" lipstick. I don't know how else to describe it. But it's also very moisturising and I have a few of these now. Again they give that perfect amount if colour without being in your face
Left to right

First of is one of my holy grail lipsticks. I've had it for ages and what's in the picture is all that's left. This is a beautiful coral and it smells fantastic. It is actually a frosty finish winch I personally don't like but it's nothing a little gloss can't fix! It's a l'oreal colour Riche lipstick in the shade sensual rose

Next I have two of the soap and glory glossy sticks. First is raplumzel which is a gorgeous plummy berry colour. This type if colour is one of my favourites of all time for lips and nails and clothes and just everything! Next is fushia-ristic. This looks super orange and bright and scary but it's a lot sheerer than in the tube. On the lips is a lovely coraly colour. These are super glossy and smell amazing and just look fantastic on the lips.

Lastly is one of the newest addictions to my lipsticks. I bought this on the recommendation of essie button. It's the rimmel moisture renew lipstick in fun time fushia. I can't get enough of this lipstick! It's so lovely on the lips, such a flattering shade of pink. Definitely go have a look at this is the shops. If you like pink lipsticks and lipsticks that make your teeth look white you will love this!

In the middle top to bottom we have
Revlon lip butter : wild watermelon
Clinique chubby stick: whoppin' watermelon
L'oreal lipstick: blushing sequin
L'oreal caresse: Aphrodite Scarlett
L'oreal colour Riche: sensual rose

On the far left is soap and glory glossy stick in raplumzel and next to it is fushia-ristic

On the far right is rimmel moisture renew lipstick in fun time fushia

What are your favourite lip products?
Ps: first ever post written on my phone so I hope the formats okay!

Florida Haul: Part 2 - Beauty

Hello Chicas!

Time for the second part of my Florida haul! Beauty! I honestly wish beauty products were as cheap here in the UK as they are in America!
If you haven't seen Part 1 click here, I showed all the nail polish I bought!

FACE
First of all I went ahead and bought the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. This is the first High end foundation I have ever owned so I'm incredibly excited about this! I've been wanting to try this for a while because it has amazing reviews and also It's prom in 2 weeks and I wanted a good foundation that matched my skin perfectly for it. I went into Nordstrom at the Florida mall and a lovely lady at the counter tried it on me and it was just a really lovely experience. I paid $43 which makes me never want to use it because I never want it to run out!

NYX blush in Peach and Pinched, Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef
I wanted to get a couple NYX blushes because they have great reviews and in the UK you can only get NYX by ordering online so I just decided to wait until I went to the states so I could go into Target and see the colours in person. Peach is a beautiful pigmented peachy pink and Pinched is a gorgeous dusty pink with gold shimmer. I got these for $4.99 each at Target
I've also heard good things about the Revlon Photoready blushes mostly by Essie Button on youtube so I picked one up last minute from Walmart for $10.97 which is a bit more on the pricey side of things but I do really like it. I love coral so this is perfect for me for the Spring and Summer. Its a cream blush but it's sort of powdery at the same time, kind of like a creme to powder type product but it's lovely anyway.

EYES
I decided to get more of the colour tattoos, I bought one at home a while ago but I didn't love love love it. With everyone raving loads about them I decided to try them again and I fell in love. I picked up the colours Barley Branded, Cool Crush, Bad to the Bronze and Inked in Pink

As you can see from the swatches the colours are very highly pigmented and beautiful. Barley Branded is a champagne colour that I know I'm going to wear loads. Cool Crush is so unique, it's part of their limited edition collection and it's sort of Duo Chrome, It's like silver blue and purple, It's so gorgeous! Bad to the Bronze is something I think everyone should own, It's definitely the most raved about one in the collection and I can see why. It's just so perfect for everyday use and like all the colours it looks great by itself or under other eyeshadows. Lastly Inked in Pink is funnily enough a pink, well its a rose goldy pink and I haven't worn it yet but it's really pretty as well. Seriously though if you haven't tried these go get them, like right now. They will change your life.
I got these between target and walmart for $5.94 each

Oh yes it happened! I finally got to try out NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. I can't even tell you how long i have wanted this! I wanted it mostly because MeganHeartsMakeup used to use it All the time in her tutorials so I'm satisfied I finally got it but wish I'd bought more colours. Definitely will be ordering some online in the future! I got this at Target for $4.49

This may be my new favourite mascara. The very hyped up Cover Girl Clump Crusher mascara. You can actually by this here from Max Factor (It's the one in the purple tube) but it's rather pricey so I waited until I got to Florida to buy it. I paid $6.94 at target for it and it's £11.99 in Superdrug here. Why do they do that to us British people?!?!
But Basically this is fantastic, It gives length and volume minus clumps and is super dark so what more do you want?

LIPS
Lip Balms! I got 2 EOS lip balm because i wanted to try them so much after all the talk! I got Strawberry Sorbet (I think) and Summer Fruit and also got the Maybelline BabyLips in Cherry Me and Pink Punch.
None of these are available in the UK although I'm sure the EOS lip balms are available online somewhere.
These are the maybelline swatches because they give colour too which I LOVE. They are so easy to wear and great for a hint of colour while also moisturising your lips.
The EOS lipbalms were $2.99 from target and the babylips were $2.99 in target and $2.97 in Walmart

I got 5 lipsticks! 2 of the colour whispers from Maybelline in Pink Possibilities and Coral Ambition, one of the Maybelline Vivids in Shocking Coral. Rimmel lipstick in Airy Fairy and a L'oreal Caresse is Blushing Sequin
The Colour Whispers were $5.94 from Walmart. I love both the colours but I can't seem to wear Coral Ambition, It just unfortunately doesn't suit me :( I think it's too pale so it just doesn't look good but I will continue to try and wear it! However I love Pink Possibilities It's a great way to wear bright pink without being OTT
The Colour Vivid In Shocking Coral is so beautiful and bright! It's verging on being Neon but I love it. I love bright lips and I can't wait to wear this! This one I got at Publix and I lost the receipt and can't remember how much it was :( Sorry!
I'm constantly searching for a nude lip but continuously failing, I just can't get the right one! I'm still unsure if I like this one but I'm trying to make it work for me because I really want a nude lip for prom so I'm going to experiment with this! This was from Target for $4.94
Lastly the L'Oreal lipstick. I think this is my new favourite lipstick of all time. Its bright without being in your face and it lasts for ages! Its very glossy too so no need for lip gloss! It sort of stains your lips which is why it last so long. It's overall an amazing lip product and I wish I got more of these so I really hope they are released soon in the UK!

NYX lipgloss in Beige on top and Tea Rose underneath
The other NYX product I wanted to try was their lip glosses. I picked up the ever so famous Beige which is not beige at all but a really pretty pink and I also got Tea Rose which is another lovely pink colour. Beige is more peachy and Tea Rose is more of a pink pink if that makes sense? I love the formulation of these glosses and the smell! They smell like cherries! I got these at target for $4.99 each

Finally Perfume. I don't know if this counts as beauty but I didn't know where else to put it. Its the Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh. The bottle is absolutely beautiful and it smells amazing! I'm not good at describing scents so I'm not even going to attempt, all I'm going to say is go smell this if you can!
This is the only thing I didn't buy myself my Mum actually got this for me at the Airport in Glasgow. Thanks Mum!

Well that's everything, I'm chuffed with everything I bought only let down was the Maybelline Colour Whisper in Coral Ambition. Beautiful colour but doesn't suit me. Hope you all are having a wonderful day!
