The Lip Junkie | Lip Gloss

As It's been a while, I feel it's time this post was put up after the success of the Lip Crayons.

The idea behind this is I have really started to accumulate a lot of lip products, I'm not even a hundred percent sure how it happened but it did. Anyway I thought it would be nice to share what I have and give my opinion on them.

Today we are moving on to lipgloss
If you missed the lip crayons one click here

Here is a nice overview of my lipglosses
I own 6 by revlon, 2 from NYX, 2 from Urban Decay and then one from Dior, Bourjois, Miss Guided and No.7

Top Row = Revlon Colourburst Lipgloss- Strawberry and Adorned and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pink Pop
Bottom Row- Revlon super lustrous lipgloss in Berry Allure, Snow Pink and Kiss Me Coral

First the Colourburst Lip glosses. These are the older style I think.

Strawberry is a redish pink with shimmer through it but  it isn't like chunky glitter so it's not rough on your lips.
Adorned is the brightest most opaque lipgloss in existence I swear. I was so surprised when I swatched this on my hand! Its a very blue toned pink with lots of fuchsia  shimmer. It was hard to picture how bright this actually is! On a night out this would be fab

These lip glosses don't have a particular fragrance, the don't smell bad they just smell like make up I guess. But i definitely love these and if you like bright colours and lip glosses you MUST go try Adorned!

The super lustrous collection is newer. They have a beautiful colour selection. They basically smell the same as the colour burst ones. I have 2 glitter glosses from this collection and two without any glitter or shimmer. The cream glosses I have are pink pop and Berry Allure.
Pink Pop is a hot pink gloss that isn't really opaque  and Berry Allure looks a lot darker in the bottle but is actually a really nice in between pink and berry and it's not too dark so it's so perfect for during the day!
The two glittery ones i own are Snow Pink and Kiss Me Coral
Snow pink comes out as almost a clear gloss with gold shimmer. It's super pretty and perfect to go on top of any lipstick to give it a beautiful finish.
Kiss Me Coral is a bright coral that I love in summer.

I don't find you can feel any grittyness with these glosses and none of them are really sticky either which i just love. All round Revlon just do fantastic glosses in a beautiful range of colours.

NYX - Beige and Tea Rose

These glosses are so creamy It's just beautiful! Both are beautiful worn by themselves or layered over lip sticks. They have a cherry scent which i adore. It's one of my favourite scents for lip products. There's nothing more really to say than these are just really nice lipglossses. However I sadly was slightly disappointed with beige after the glowing reviews purely because I wanted to love it so much but the colour looks odd on me, that shade of pink just doesn't seem to suit me sadly! But I use it over lipstick a lot!

These are my two Urban Decay lipglosses both of which are beautiful.
On top is the shade Crush, this is practically the same as Pink Pop from Revlon in colour and in finish. I find it is a bit of a thicker consistency which i quite like.
Underneath we have the shade sin which is a gorgeous nude shade with gold shimmer.
Both have a peppermint scent which i love, it feels very fresh! Also these lipglosses always seem to last a while on me so big thumbs up for that!

Dior Addict Lipgloss summer 2012 - £22 I think this was limitied edition- Sorry!

Oh my one true love lipgloss. This is my beloved Dior Addict lipgloss in the shade glow. I can't even express my love for this, It's just so perfect. The colour is so me, Pinky/reddy/coral I just love it, This is the kind of shades that suit my skin tone best. It's beautiful by itself and over lipstick and it feels just amazing. I can't recommend it enough!
Bourjois 3D Effect lipgloss  - £7.99
Missguided Lipgloss (I can't find any link for this!)
No.7 High Shine Lipgloss- £9

Finally the last 3, which are all very similar as you can see!
First on top is bourjois 3D effect gloss from the summer collection (last years i think) in shade 49.
Its a peachy pink with a lot of gold shimmer which looks beautiful when the sunlight hits it, it looks magical.
Underneath is the missguided one i own, i think i actually got it in a magazine! It's another peachy pink gloss, slightly paler than the bourjois one and with more silvery flecks of shimmer in it. Its in the shade peace
Lastly is No.7 in coral kiss. Its basically the same as the missguided one but with less shimmer.
These lipgloss shades are great to have because they are so simple and easy to wear and look great layered as well.
They are all good lipglosses however the No.7 bugs me as it is one of those bottles that you can hardly get any lipgloss out!- you all know what i'm talking about, it like sucks the gloss off when you pull out the applicator!

So that is all my lipglosses- I'm beginning to possibly aqquire a lip product addiction i think, however I love them all <3

Hope you are all having a wonderful wonderful day

The Lip Junkie | Lip Crayons

Recently I have come to the conclusion that I am starting to hoard lip products. Well I basically hoard beauty products but I just allow myself to because they make me happy. Now I sound crazy but i'm sure if you are on  this blog you understand me.

Sidenote, I got a fancy DSLR camera for christmas that i am still figuring out how to use so please bare with me on the picture quality

I thought I'd share with you what lip products I have and my thoughts on them starting with lip crayons.

I love lip crayons, I think they are generally great because they are just so easy. I use them all the time and have worked up a few different ones to share with you

I have all the soap & Glory gloss sticks, a couple of the Bourjois and Revlon ones, one from Clinique and one from No.7

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks  - £8
Left-Right
Raplumzel- A berry shade
Plum Jam- A plummy nude
Fushia-Ristic- A coraly shade
Bashfull- A pink nude
Nudist- A true nude

I love the colour selection in these lip crayons. All five are beautiful and wearable colours and unlike many collections of make up there isn't a single dud of a colour.
There is a vanilla scent to these which I personally love but it's not overpowering
They are like most lip crayons I've come across twist up so no sharpening is required.

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon - £7.99
Orange Punch
Red Sunshine

These lip crayons are a lot brighter than the soap and glory ones and still glossy. I have the coral and the Red shade from the collection which are beautiful. They are so pigmented, one swipe and you're ready to go. I think these make wearing a bright lip fuss free and easy.

I did also have the paler pink shade from this collection called On The Beach. This was, what I found, the colour that had the most buzz around it however it unfortunately just did not suit me in the slightest. I don't know what it is with colours like that but they just do nothing for me so I passed it on to my little sister

I don't find these lip crayons have a scent, they just kind of smell like make up and like the soap and glory sticks these are also twist up

Crush
Rendez-Vous

The Revlon Balms stains have a peppermint scent which I adore because I love the smell of mint. They are less glossy than the previous two brands but still have shine to them. The colour Crush is perfect for autumn/winter. It's the kind of colour I just wear all the time and Rendez-Vous is my perfect Spring/Summer shade because I am all about the corals in the warmer months.
The pigmentation is great in these and again they are just easy to wear and fuss free.
A huge bonus for me is that they aren't too dry that they show off every little crack and line in my lips but they also stain the lip so the colour stays on for a decent length of time. I also found that the colour never transfers at all!

No.7 High Shine Lip Crayon- £9
Clinique Chubby Sticks Lip Balm- £17

firstly the No.7 lip crayon, This is the lip crayon I own that I wear the least and that interest me least. I don't know why, I think i
I picked an uninteresting colour for me in the hopes it'd be a good everyday colour but I just don't find myself ever reaching for it.
The product itself however is lovely. It again has a shine to it but itts not super glossy as you would imagine by the name. The staying power is alright not fantastic, just sort of average.
On the plus side I do find this lip crayon moisturising which is always a bonus considering my lips are constantly chapped

The Clinique chubby stick was the first lip crayon I tried because I got a free sample size with another clinique purchase. It is a very subtle colour which I love and this is the one I reach for, for that everday lip look. I don't find there is a particular fragrance to the chubby sticks and they are glossy but not overly glossy. I certainly understand the craze over these however I am not sure they are worth the steep £17 when there a great alternatives on the highstreet.

Overall I would say the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks are my favourite lip crayons out of all the ones I have tried and they are certainly the ones I reach for the most. I just love the colour selection, they are great for day and night and I think all the colours would suit every skin tone. They smell great and are so easy to use. Lip crayons are definitely fast becoming my preferred lip product.

What are your favourite lip crayons? I'm always dying for more!

No.7 Stay Perfect Mascara Review

Hola lovelies

I've only ever reviewed a couple of things on this blog but both have gone down really quite well so here's another one for you!

A few weeks ago I got the new no.7 mascara. It's the stay perfect long lasting volume mascara and I have it in black but it also comes in brown/black.
Incase you don't know what no.7 is. It is a boots make up brand that is all hypo-allergenic so perfect for sensitive skin.
This is actually a Waterproof mascara but it isn't a problem to come off at the end of the day. All you have to do is dampen a cotton pad with warm water and hold over your eyes for thirty seconds then it just wipes away. It's fantastic. I didn't believe it when I saw the campaign for it. But it's true. I tried it myself.

One of the first things you'll notice is the tiny brush. It's a plastic applicator which I personally like. I also find with the tiny brush it really separates and lengthens my eyelashes.
The colour is super black and it does also stay on all day without smudging.

This is without any mascara on

This has about 2 coats of the mascara. I've actually been asked if I'm wearing fake eyelashes while wearing this mascara. What's also fabulous about it is that if you only put one coat on it gives a nice natural look but you can build it up to be more dramatic without it getting all clumpy.

Positives:
Love the applicator
Love the formula, not clumpy
Love how easy it is to take off your eyes

Negatives
The only problem I have with this is it comes off your eyes at night easily but it sort of goes all over your face in the process which isn't a problem it's just a wee bitty annoying

All in all I really do like this mascara and it's made me want to try more no.7 products!

Maybelline Color Show | Review + Swatches

Hello beautiful people

I went shopping just over a week ago and I picked up 3 of the maybelline color show Nail Polishes

The first colour I have is "Cool Blue". It's just a really pretty light blue as you can see above.

Secondly I have "Urban Coral" which I LOVE. I'm such a huge fan of coral in the spring and summer and this is just so perfect.

Last I have this absolutely beautiful colour called "Speeding Light" Omg this is so so pretty! It's a hot pink with like a purple/blue duo chrome and well, I'm a sucker for duo chrome.

I think these nail polishes are absolutely brilliant!

  • They are super glossy
  • Very Opaque
  • Lovely Formula
  • Amazing colour selection!
  • Fantastic price! They are only £2.99 and often on 3 for 2 at boots or superdrug!
  • They last so well! I had the pink on for 5 days before it chipped! The other 2 i didn't wear long enough for them to chip!
Really what more can you ask for in nail polish?!

These will be very loved in my ever growing nail polish collection! I have a 109 bottles now.. eek

Have you tried these? What's your favourtie nail polishes? I'd love to know because I'm always up for buying more!

Rimmel Apocalips | Review + Swatches

Rimmel Apocalips have been highly raved about all over the internet and they completely deserve it! In my opinion these are some of the best lip products I own. They are so pigmented and super easy to apply as well! Bonus for me! I'm so bad for getting bright lipstick all over my face during application, does that happen to anyone else? Just me..

The first colour I have is Nova, the palest of the 4 and also probably my least favourite! I think "Barbie Pink" when I look in the mirror (this does not photograph well) I feel I would've like this one more if it was less opaque! It just doesn't really "suit" me that well.

Here Is Apocaliptic, and oh boy do I love this! It really is the perfect bright pink. My life will be forever happy with this in my make up collection.

Stellar is a beautiful practically neon pink coral but sort of red at the same time (I am so not good at describing colours). This one is  going to be so fun for spring and summer. I can't wait to wear it more!

Lastly I have Big Bang. I have worn this one the most by far since I got it because I am a true red lips lover. This can't be anymore perfect. Glossy, Beautiful shade, Doesn't go all over my face, what else could I want?

As you might be able to see, I am definitely a bright lips lover. Not always the most practical for school and things but I'm just drawn to them when I go shopping!

Good Points

  • Pigmentation is outstanding
  • They apply really easily
  • They last really well
  • Gorgeous colour selection
  • Pretty Packaging
  • Beautiful finish

Anyway hope everyone is having a fantabulous day and I'm now going to go live happily ever after with my Bright Lip colours :)
